In haar films verkent Johanna Billing de evolutie van onze maatschappij via de interactie tussen mensen, waarbij ze de uitwisseling soms ensceneert. Haar project Each Moment Presents What Happens herinterpreteert de eerste bekende happening in Black Mountain College in de VS: Untitled Event (Theatre piece number 1, 1952) van John Cage. In de film registreert Billing studenten van een Britse school in het midden van een experimenteel en multidisciplinair proces vol improvisatie, dat openstaat voor mislukking, uitwisseling en verbeelding.
