From Molenbeek with love

From Molenbeek with Love is Yassin Mrabtifi’s first solo work. Dance is his language. With a distinctive blend of hip-hop, voguing, contemporary dance, and stand-up comedy, he connects to a conversation about society, identity, art, and Molenbeek – his home. While dancing, Mrabtifi tries to deconstruct and rebuild his puzzled identity. He considers how the outside world sees him alongside how he wants to be seen. While dancing, he discovers the forgotten puzzle pieces: his soft side, his feminine side, and his spiritual side. Dancing is nuancing, discovering and discarding layers. A sincere and tender dialogue, overcoming prejudices, a search for love from and for the other.
