Guy de Cointet & Robert Wilhite

Ethiopia

Peter, Tom and Julia meet at their late grandmother’s house to tell stories about the objects they find there. Ethiopia is a theatre performance that premiered in Los Angeles in 1976. Its three parts and three sets are full of peculiar musical pieces and colourful objects that interact with the rich script. Anne Frèches is now staging Ethiopia in French, with a new cast. She investigates how activating the objects influences the text composed of colloquialisms and fragments from books and magazines.
