Dove fermarsi?

Dove fermarsi?’ (Where to stop?) examines the metamorphosis of human and animal and aims to show how the loss of belonging forces the hybrid being to search for new points of reference and to reassess its purpose. As beings of the in-between, these creatures find themselves in a difficult situation, as they belong neither to one world nor to the other.

Seven bird-people wander across Europe through a wide variety of landscapes. The Snowy Owl crosses the national border on the Schnalstal glacier in Italy and a lake on a rowing boat in the Finnish forest, the Ruff walks across a car park from the brutalist era in the Parisian suburb of Noisy Le Grand, the Razorbill spends time in the caves of the indigenous people of Gran Canaria, the Bearded Vulture wanders through the dunes on the Belgian coast towards the sea, the Anna’s Hummingbird climbs a mountain in Finnish Lapland, the Bee-Eater walks over the dunes near Maspalomas and the Jay marches through a Belgian swamp.

These creatures are small in comparison to the might of nature. It seems as if they have no precise destination. They know neither where they come from nor where they are going. They are neither one nor the other.
