Clédat & Petitpierre (FR)

Ermitologie

Ermitologie is a confusing but delightful journey through art history. Clédat & Petitpierre explore different states of the human body and its sculptural image through a unique tour combining works from Gustave Flaubert, Alberto Giacometti, Paleolithic art, Max Ernst, and the Italian Renaissance. In doing so they make associations between people, plants, animals, and even robotics. From the lean figure of ‘L’homme Qui Marche’ to the prehistoric, voluptuous Venus. Ermitologie is a piece of sensitive mechanics: everything comes to life and every audience is moved.
