Myriam Van Imschoot
Can I be your witness?
What is in a statement? What is the role of “oral testimony” in our
relationship to history? How can we imagine oral
archives? In this installation, Myriam Van Imschoot draws on her
collaborative research of the interdisciplinary improvisation project,
Crash Landing. Crash Landing was presented at STUK 13 years ago, under the
artistic direction of Meg Stuart, Christine De Smedt and David Hernandez.
With this as a a point of departure, Myriam Van Imschoot touches subjects
such as sound and memory, improvisation and oral history. The result of her
work is a sound and image essay at the STUK Paviljoenenzaal (literally in
the ‘catacombs’ of the original performance).
Playground is also including the performance, Pick Up Voices, in the installation.
