Playground

In this film by Joachim Koester (DEN) seven dancers put a playful interpretation on a dance used to cure victims of
a dangerous tarantula bite. This dance or “tarantella” was prescribed in medieval times in order to soften the symptoms of the bite. Intrigued by these uncontrolled and compulsive movements Koester and his dancers explore the common ground between spasm and choreography. Amongst the dancers we find Alexandra Bachzetsis and Andros Zins-Browne who both showed work at STUK in the past.
