Falke Pisano’s (NL) installations, texts and performances are all about language. Her performances take the shape of a reading where objects are described and given meaning. For her new reading/performance Figures of Speech Pisano tries to explain, investigate and make concrete the relationship between subjectivity, position and “speech”. By means of text and image the artist questions how we take a stand during lectures, how we build theories and take up different positions. Figures of Speech is a new version of a previous performance at the Yokohama Triennial in 2008.
