The Scavenger's Daughters
The Scavenger’s Daughters is an ambiguous portrait of two
sisters. This epic text spins a web of dreams, thoughts and deviations. The
title refers to the act of scavenging words, ideas, food and emotions as
well as the passing on of words and habit through family ties. The sisters
speak in a way that imitates the workings of the brain in daydreams so
thoughts follow in quick succession. The performance zooms in on the role
of non-communication, distance, family and gender stereotypes. The viewer
is taken along an almost hypnotising stream of thoughts which are
exteriorised and relased into the air by the voice.
