After studying at DASArts in Amsterdam Michiel Alberts (NL) joined forces
with theatre director Jan Ritsema. Since 2002 Alberts works in Belgium as a
visual artist. He will graduate from HISK in Ghent in the autumn. For
Playground Alberts developed a performance entitled
Rolling about the relationship between the body and the
empty space. Through extremely slow and constant rolling movement Alberts
defines the empty space of the STUK courtyard with his body. In the course
of the three hour performance our attention shifts from the rolling
movement to the courtyard itself.
